| OGEL Checker
Once exporters know the 'rating' (i.e. the control list entry reference in the UK Strategic Export Control Lists) of their goods, software or technology and know what country they will be exported to, they may be able to use an Open General Export Licence (OGEL). Exporters can use the web-based OGEL Checker as a search tool to help them assess if any OGELs may be relevant. |

Goods Checker is a web-based search tool to help exporters decide if their goods, software or technology are controlled by UK or EU strategic export control legislation. By entering keywords that describe their goods, the exporter can search against the current UK Strategic Export Control Lists. The reference of any relevant control list entry is known as the 'rating'. The rating needs to be known before exporters can check to see if they can use an Open General Licence (OGEL).
